Hobert Wilson Bell

August 28, 1936 – September 10, 2018

Hobert Wilson Bell, 82, Arcadia, passed away Monday evening, September 10, 2018 at St. Vincent Seaton Hospital in Indianapolis. Born August 28, 1936 in Jamestown, Ky., he was the son of the late Elmer and Ima (Johnson) Bell.

Hobert worked as a core maker with Interstate Casting in Noblesville, retiring after 50 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Noblesville. Hobert was steady as a rock in both his faith and his beliefs. He was also very dedicated to his family and friends. He loved people, but even more than that, he loved making them happy.

Never able to pass up a yard or garage sale, Hobert loved buying whatever caught his eye at the time. He would fill his vehicle up with his “finds” and then turn around and give everything away to his family and his friends, or to whomever he thought might get some joy from it. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, but one activity he always looked forward to was his trips back home to Kentucky.

He was a dedicated family man, especially when it came to his grandkids.

Hobert is survived by his loving wife, Amy (Griffith) Bell. He and Amy were married on November 5, 1999. Also surviving are his son, Hobert W. Bell, Jr. (Jackie), Noblesville; step-son, Michael Bell (Jackie), Kirklin; two daughters, Deloise Swinford, Arcadia, and Kathryn Kean (Shaun), Russell Springs, Ky.; two step-daughters, Lisa Bell, Indianapolis, and Kathy Bell, Sheridan; seven grandchildren, Erika Tollett, Ashley DeFoe, Kelsey Swinford, Harley Davidson, April Davidson, Andrew Bell and Farrah Butler; three step-grandchildren, Jared Bell, Devon Aleman and Amber Gidman; three great-grandchildren, Liam Tollett, Ryan Peters and Gunner Davidson; one step-great-grandchild, Donovan Aleman; and one brother, Paul Bell, Noblesville. Hobert was also survived by his canine best friend and the dog he “NEVER” wanted, Rambo. He spoiled that dog rotten, as any good dog owner should, making sure to get Rambo an Arby’s roast beef sandwich every single day.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Christine Bell; his daughter, Mindy Bell; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Morris; step-great-grandson, Logan Aleman; three brothers, James, Ray and Preston Bell; and four sisters, Christine Bell-Johnson, Ada Bell-Glenn, Madeline Bell-Appleby and Emma Bell-Appleby.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Victory Baptist Church, 2021 Cicero Road, Noblesville, with visitation from 3 p.m. until the time of service.

Pastor Darryl Jones will be officiating. Following the services in Indiana, Hobert will be taken back home to Kentucky. Services in Kentucky will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Ky., with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Jamestown Cemetery in Jamestown, Ky. Pastor Phillip Miller will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Kercheval Funeral Home, P.O. Box 42, Sheridan, IN 46069 to help the family with funeral expenses.
