Hamilton County Health Department distributes cleanup supply buckets

Donations from The Home Depot & Logan Street Signs support post-flood recovery

The Hamilton County Health Department has distributed 50 emergency cleanup supply buckets to residents impacted by recent flooding, thanks to donations from The Home Depot and Logan Street Signs.

The Home Depot donated cleanup and personal protective supplies for the buckets, while Logan Street Signs donated custom labels.

Each bucket included heavy-duty trash bags, work gloves, rubber gloves, dish soap, N95 masks, terry towels, a scrub brush, cleaning sponges, and sanitizing general purpose cleaner.

The buckets also included post-flood health and safety information from the Hamilton County Health Department covering private well safety, septic systems, vital records, tetanus vaccinations, and mental health resources.

“Our staff has been working directly with residents whose homes and wells were affected by flooding, so we wanted to make sure they had practical supplies and reliable information as they begin the cleanup process,” Health Department Administrator Jason LeMaster said.

Health Department field staff distributed buckets while conducting water sampling and assisting residents with wells that had been submerged by floodwater. Additional buckets were provided to Teter Organic Farm, which coordinated delivery to residents in the Riverwood area.
