At 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, the Kroger parking lot located at 172 W Logan St., Noblesville, was flooded, making it dangerous to get in or out of that store. Noblesville Common Council Member Pete Schwartz was on the scene and spoke to The Reporter about the situation.
“I am standing right in the middle of Logan Street adjacent to the Chase Bank branch in front of Kroger, and right now there is currently no good exit without driving through two feet of water,” Schwartz said. “I’ve contacted the police department to do some traffic control and help get these people out because it’s rising so fast. I placed a rock at the water’s edge and in 15 minutes you couldn’t even see it.”
As you can see in the photos attached to this post, the Logan Street Kroger is not a safe place to go. While county officials are advising people to store potable water, this location is not a safe place to stock up on that or any other supplies for the flood.
“This is just such unknown territory,” Schwartz said. “This is flooding so fast we need to even start turning our heads towards downtown Noblesville.”
