Golden Eagles roll past Howe, play unbeaten Bull Dogs next

Guerin Catholic scored its third straight win on Friday, cruising past Indianapolis Howe 45-0 on the road.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Class 3A No. 9 Golden Eagles put up 24 points in the second period. Christian Gelov scored on a three-yard run, then Charles Bock punched in two straight touchdowns from the 1-yard line. In all three TDs, the Golden Eagles converted two-point runs: Dylan Crossen had two and Bock had one.
Guerin Catholic added 21 more points in the third quarter, with Crossen, Cam Murray and Jagger Albert all scoring on short runs. Nathan Friedman kicked all three extra points.
The Golden Eagles totaled 325 yards in rushing, with Crossen gaining 140 yards. Bock and Murray both had 62. Guerin kept everything on the ground in this game; the Golden Eagles attempted only one pass. On defense, GC pushed the Hornets back to minus 16 yards of rushing.
The Golden Eagles are now 3-1 for the season and return to the Eagles Nest next Friday to play 6A No. 7 Columbus North. The Bull Dogs are 4-0 for the season, with wins over Franklin Community, Columbus East, Southport and Roncalli; Columbus North beat the Rebels 9-7 on Friday.
