Two Hamilton County players are part of the top 10 after the first round of play at the Indiana Jr. PGA Championship, which began Thursday at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru.
Carmel’s Alex Gardner is the top local player, currently fourth with a two under par score of 70. Gardner made five birdies during his round and is two back from the leader, Boonville’s Cash Willis, who scored four under 68 for his opening round.
Noblesville’s J.T. Kelley is part of a four-way tie for eighth place, scoring 73. Kelley made an eagle on the third hole during his round.
The 36-hole tournament concludes today, with play starting at 8 a.m. The top 70 and ties from the first round made the cut; a list of those players now follows.
