$50K goal to receive matching grant through CreatINg Places initiative

Cicero residents and visitors will soon enjoy a farm-themed playground in Community Park for ages 5 to 12 thanks to an IHCDA CreatINg Places crowdfunding campaign launching, Friday, May 3.

CreatINg Places is a program of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA). The Town of Cicero is leading the campaign.

“We’re thrilled to be participating in the CreatINg Places program once again,” Cicero Parks Superintendent Jim Hunter said. “We’re confident our community will help us raise our goal so we can receive a matching grant from IHCDA to build this new playground by the fall.”

If the campaign reaches its $50,000 goal by Sept. 3, the town will receive a matching grant of $50,000 from IHCDA’s CreatINg Places program.

Visit patronicity.com/ciceroplayground for project details and to donate. You can also stop by the Cicero Parks’ booth in Community Park during the Lights Over Morse Lake festival on Friday starting at 1 p.m. to donate and learn more.

The CreatINg Places program is available to projects located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 status) and Local Units of Government are eligible to apply.

Eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000, where the recipient will receive $5,000 in IHCDA matching funds should they successfully raise $5,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant funds up to $50,000 per project.
