Jerry Dean Houck

February 23, 1943 – June 10, 2026

Jerry Dean Houck, born February 23, 1943, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and a resident of Noblesville, and recently of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on June 10, 2026. Jerry resided much of his life in Ohio, Indiana, and Texas. Jerry was a smart, reliable, and dedicated man who loved his family and was known for his loyal nature.

Jerry was married to his loving wife, Sally, on June 15, 1967. Together, they raised two sons, Karl (Jeanne) and Kurt, who remember their father as a pillar of strength and wisdom. Jerry was also a proud grandfather to Chance, Jack, and Jason. His love for his family was evident in the way he dedicated his time to them. His brother, Larry (Esther), and several nephews and nieces also survive him.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Leo Houck, mother, Lucille Houck, and sister, Beverly Spitzer.

Jerry retired as a businessman from GTE/Verizon in addition to teaching school for several years. Jerry was a graduate of Ohio University. Outside of his career, Jerry had diverse interests, including a love of the outdoors, especially fishing in Canada and Florida (where he and Sally spent many winters). He was also a keen follower and investor of the stock market, enjoyed photography, was an aviation enthusiast, and enjoyed writing and poetry. He was a varsity basketball player in high school (Northridge) and an avid fan of college basketball and would eagerly await the March Madness games each year. Jerry also enjoyed traveling across the U.S., Canada, as well as Europe and Asia.

Jerry’s life was a testimony to his dedication, loyalty, and love for his family. He was a member of the Croton Church of Christ in Croton, Ohio, and former member of the White River Christian Church of Noblesville. Jerry’s life was well-lived, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
