Fujisawa Keuling, Camp in contention for Girls State Junior title

Two soon-to-be sophomores are one stroke off the lead after second-round play at the Girls State Junior Championship, which finishes today at the Country Club of Terre Haute.

Carmel’s Maya Fujisawa Keuling rose from sixth place to a tie for second place after scoring one under par 71 during Thursday’s second round. Fujisawa Keuling made three birdies on Thursday and has five for the tournament.

Westfield’s Farrah Camp scored 76 to hold steady in the second-place tie. Camp drained two birdies for her second round and has made four for the event.

Finley Baker of Leesburg also has a two-day score of 147, making it a three-way tie for second place. The leader is Rowan Pies of Guilford with 146.

Recent Westfield graduate Kelsey Haverluck is tied for fifth with 149. Two local golfers moved into the top 10: McCordsville’s Ressie Lemmon and Noblesville’s Olivia Fowler both scored 75s, putting them in a three-way tie for ninth place with Zionsville’s Olivia Patton. All three golfers have overall scores of 153.

The 54-hole tournament concludes today. Here is a list of local golfers and their scores are the second day of the event.
