Rebecca “Becky” Sue Upp (Kaelber)

December 12, 1948 – June 6, 2026

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Rebecca “Becky” Sue Upp (Kaelber), 77, Noblesville. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 6, 2026.

Born on December 12, 1948, in Marion, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Opal Kaelber. Becky graduated from Harding High School in 1967. On September 27, 1969, Becky married the love of her life, Michael (Mike) Upp, and together they built a home filled with love, faith, and happiness. She was an active member in many Lutheran churches throughout her life, finding joy in volunteering for craft fairs and rummage sales. She dedicated 12 years of her working career to a local doctor’s office. After having children, maintaining a schedule that matched theirs was extremely important to her so she worked a variety of jobs at different schools throughout their childhood.

Through the years she enjoyed many types of crafting, from cross stitching to basket weaving.

She loved to shop, even when she needed nothing. The littlest things brought her joy: from sending cards to family and friends to watching a cute Hallmark movie to even a sappy commercial. She also had a love for all animals, especially the cats she raised throughout her life.

Becky found her greatest joy in her kids and then a second time around in her grandkids. Nothing made her happier than sharing their highlights with anyone who would listen. Her grandchildren knew her as “Gaga,” and she treasured every moment spent with them, from playing games, making crafts, attending school events, and cheering from the stands.

Becky is survived by her husband of 56 years, Mike; her son, Ryan (Brandi) Upp; her daughter, Sara (Jesse) Keljo; and her grandchildren, Evelyn and Owen Keljo, and Alex, Scarlett, and Tennessee Van Meter.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026, with visitation preceding from noon to 2 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, with Rev. Kurt Keljo officiating. An intimate burial service will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 11 at Waldo Cemetery in Waldo, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Riverview Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.
