David Turk, a Fishers resident, real estate developer, and father of three, officially filed on Tuesday, May 19 to run for Hamilton Southeastern School Board District 3. A Hamilton County native and proud HSE parent, Turk is running to give back to the schools that changed his family’s life.
Turk grew up in Hamilton County and attended Noblesville High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Purdue University, where he also met his wife, Rachel. In the fall of 2021, the Turks made a deliberate decision to move their family to Fishers, specifically for the Hamilton Southeastern school system.
The Turks have three children, Lore, James, and Lyon, all currently enrolled at Brooks School Elementary. Their son James is blind, and the family has seen firsthand how HSE’s special education programs can open doors for kids with unique needs. Turk’s mother was a public school teacher, and her influence shaped his deep respect for the educators who show up for students every day.
“HSE has done something extraordinary for our son James,” Turk said. “The teachers and staff in this district have gone above and beyond to make sure every kid has the chance to thrive. My mom was an Indiana public school teacher. I know how much these educators give. I am running to protect those programs, keep the best teachers in HSE, and be responsible stewards of the resources that families and taxpayers trust us with.”
Turk’s campaign is centered on three core priorities: protecting and strengthening HSE’s special needs and special education programs, keeping talented teachers in the district, and ensuring smart, responsible budgeting that reflects the trust families place in their school board.
A real estate developer by profession, Turk brings practical experience managing complex projects and budgets, as well as a personal stake in the future of Hamilton Southeastern schools. He and Rachel are active members of the Fishers community.
