On Tuesday, May 19, Sheridan Community Schools (SCS) named Ryan Kelleher as Teacher of the Year. He works as both a high school science teacher and corporation instructional coach serving K-12 teachers.
As one of the nominators stated, “Mr. Kelleher is not only a fantastic teacher but a wonderful human being. He always treats everyone around him with kindness and respect.”
Kelleher is currently teaching Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, and Honors Biology, where he inspires curiosity in his classroom via hands-on learning through experiments and real-world experiences that put learning into practice. In his instructional coaching role, he also helps to support and empower young and veteran teachers alike in making their classrooms better every day.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized,” Kelleher said. “There are so many deserving and talented educators who are making a difference in the lives of our students every day.”
SCS is grateful for his dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping students and staff succeed. Sheridan is lucky to have him. His commitment and service are a true reflection of what it means to support a school community, making him more than deserving of being named the 2026 Teacher of the Year.
