Hamilton Heights traveled north on Tuesday to visit the Kokomo Wildkats at Municipal Stadium.
The Huskies had the lead for a majority of the game, but couldn’t withstand a late rally from the Wildkats, dropping a 7-5 road game.
Heights scored four in the second, but Kokomo scored in the bottom and again in the third to cut it to 4-2.
Another run scored for Heights in the fourth when Owen Hughes made it home for 5-2 on an error by the Kats’ catcher.
For the third straight innings, Kokomo scored one run to make it 5-3.
Kokomo had a four-run sixth inning that was highlighted by a two-run double for the lead at 6-5. Just after those two runs, another scored for the 7-5 final.
Hamilton Heights (7-14) visits 3A No. 2 Guerin Catholic (20-3-1) tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in an all-county battle.
