The Sheridan softball team played its first game on the Blackhawks’ new stadium Monday.
The Blackhawks took on Horizon Christian at the new Godby Home Furnishings Stadium and Al Youmans Field. Sheridan fell to Horizon Christian 6-3.
Both teams scored one run in the third inning; Ellie Eaton singled in Abby Dallas for the Blackhawks’ run. Horizon Christian scored five runs in the fourth inning and held the lead from there.
Anna Rusk scored a run for Sheridan in the sixth inning. In the seventh inning, Eaton got on base with a double, then was sent home by Adria Jump’s RBI groundout.
Eaton was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, with Rusk getting two hits. Norah Adams threw a complete game, striking out seven.
The Blackhawks are 0-2 and host Hamilton Heights on Thursday.
