The City of Carmel and Freewheelin’ Community Bikes will once again host the annual Bike Donation Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 11 in the Carmel City Hall parking lot.
If you have old bikes or spare bike parts laying around unused, bring them to Bike Donation Day to give them renewed purpose for youth taking part in the Freewheelin’ Green Apron (Earn-a-Bike) program.
Bike donations are an important part of Freewheelin’ Community Bikes’ mission to provide safe, reliable and affordable transportation. The 2025 donation day was canceled due to weather so the donation number to beat is the 2024 total of 151 bikes.
The following items are especially useful:
- Bikes with multiple speeds/gears
- Quality bike shop brand names and vintage steel frame bikes
- Modern comfort bikes, mountain bikes, road bikes and cruisers
- Bicycle parts
If your donation cannot be used by Freewheelin’ or its partners, they will responsibly recycle all metal.
When dropping off your donations, you will be asked to enter from the southeast corner of the parking lot and follow the signs to the northwest corner before exiting from the northeast exit back on to Veterans Way.
