Sheridan baseball team starts season

The Sheridan baseball team opened its season with two games this week.

The Blackhawks hosted the Indianapolis Kings homeschool team on Tuesday and lost 17-2 in five innings. Seniors Braelan Bochner and Chance Spencer both scored one run and had one hit. Freshman Levi Gellert hit an RBI single.

Senior Jake Hall pitched three innings, striking out five.

Sheridan played at Madison-Grant on Wednesday, falling 10-8. The Argylls led 10-4 after three innings; the Blackhawks scored four runs in the fifth.

Senior Brayden Whisman had two hits, a double and a single, and scored two runs. Senior Chance Spencer hit a double, while Hall scored two runs.

The Blackhawks will host Lewis Cass Saturday morning for a doubleheader. The first game begins at 11 a.m.
