Softball: Golden Eagles fall to Living Water Homeschool

The Guerin Catholic softball team lost to Living Water Homeschool 16-6 in a six-inning game at Shambaugh Park in Indianapolis.

The Golden Eagles’ Izzy Phillips and Gia Crishon hit back-to-back home runs to lead off the top of the second inning and score the first runs of the game. But Living Water answered with three runs in the bottom of the second and third innings, then put up four runs in the fourth for a 10-2 advantage.

Jillian Davis stepped up for Guerin Catholic in the fifth inning, cracking a three-run homer that also scored Kate Brady and Emily Powers. Ava Augustinovicz scored a run after Phillips reached on error, bringing GC within 10-6. But Living Water scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth, then an RBI double in the sixth inning ended the game.

Davis and Augustinovicz both had two hits, with Davis also hitting a double. Crishon pitched 3.2 innings and struck out four, while Augustinovicz had three strikeouts in two innings.

Guerin Catholic is 2-1 and hosts Heritage Christian this afternoon.
