HSE boys split in St. Louis

The Hamilton Southeastern boys lacrosse team split a pair of games in the St. Louis area last weekend.

The Royals beat Christian Brothers 14-4 on Friday, March 27. Stats from that game were unavailable.

Southeastern played Mary Institute and Country Day School on Saturday, March 28 and lost in overtime 7-6. Kyle Jenkins scored three goals, followed by one goal each from Turner Berry, Ben Speckman and Kody Lougheed.

Jake Kuxhausen made two assists, while Jenkins and Cohen O’Grady both dished out one assist. Vince Putnam collected six ground balls, while Jackson Joyce won nine faceoffs.

The Royals are 8-3 and are off until April 15 when they host Avon.

Hamilton Southeastern’s girls fell 15-4 to Kentucky Day School on Saturday, March 28.

Edie Fisher scored two goals and made one assist. Eliza Bordenkecher and Allison Funk both scored one goal. Samantha Kim dished out two assists and Claire Latta made one assist. Alexandra Austgen scooped up four ground balls.

Southeastern is 5-4. The Royals’ next game is April 16 against Heritage Christian at home.

Carmel’s boys beat Wheaton Academy 18-5 on Monday.

Lincoln O’Leary and Ike Stitle both scored six goals for the Greyhounds. EB Warren added two goals, followed by one goal each for Max McCord, Matthew Quigley, Luke Shrift and Evan Coulter.

Stitle, Evan Bardwell and Coulter all dished out two assists. O’Leary, Zach Degraff and Shrift each made one assist. Michael Reckenwall collected eight ground balls, with Quigley getting six ground balls.

Carmel played at Guerin Catholic on Wednesday, results from that game will appear in a later edition. The Greyhounds’ next game is against Center Grove at home on April 11.
