Dear Editor:
On July 4 at approximately 2:40 in the afternoon, my mother passed out at a backyard barbecue. 911 was called and it took around 40 minutes for an EMT to arrive.
We live in White River Township, so Seals is our ambulance service. However, they were unavailable that day, so Jackson Township was called. Thank God they were not out-of-service.
I am very unhappy with the township. We have a beautiful fire house but no EMT service … really.
We have children and grandchildren and elderly parents. It’s sad to think what might have happened in the long window of time if the situation was worse.
I hope this issue gets resolved very quickly so that no one else has to worry about this situation again.
