Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) issued the following statement Thursday, Feb. 26 upon final passage of Senate Enrolled Act 27 establishing the Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority.

Indiana is ready to seize this transformational opportunity for Northwest Indiana that will deliver lasting benefits to the entire state. A project like this brings jobs, new businesses, increased tourism, and long-term economic and population growth. We’re excited to bring this project one step closer to fruition and firmly position Indiana as a premier destination for world-class sports and entertainment. I thank the ownership and leadership of the Chicago Bears and look forward to building on our partnership.

SEA 27 passed the Senate for a final time Thursday and now heads to the governor’s desk for final consideration to become law. The bill passed the House on Tuesday with a bipartisan vote of 95-4.
