Carmel Symphony Orchestra gets sweet donation from The Hershey Company

Earlier this year, the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) was looking for a unique way to thank supporters. Knowing that The Hershey Company had a candy bar named “Symphony,” it seemed like the perfect treat to gift donors. Hershey describes the milk chocolate candy bar as the perfect harmony of flavors that will be music to your taste buds.

CSO reached out to Hershey to see if they would donate the candy. The company’s website states that the company’s purpose is to make more moments of goodness for consumers around the world. It was CSO’s hope that Hershey would see value in the symphony’s mission and want to be a part of CSO’s Donor Appreciation Night.

While it may have been a bit of a long shot, CSO thought it was worth asking Hershey for the donation. What a pleasant surprise it was when Hershey agreed to donate 250 Symphony candy bars to give donors as a small token of CSO’s appreciation. It was even more of a surprise when CSO staff saw the size of the donated bars, which were the 7.37-ounce “giant” bars, not the regular 1.55-ounce size. CSO is very grateful for The Hershey Company’s generous donation.

The CSO League helped in this effort by volunteering to help gift wrap all 250 candy bars in decorative cellophane bags with a note card that reads, “How sweet of you to support the CSO.”

CSO looks forward to greeting donors at intermission with a sweet treat and a big thank you for their continued support of the symphony.
