Master Gardeners invite you to seminar on trees & shrubs

The Hamilton County Master Gardeners Association invites you to a two-part seminar all about trees and shrubs in your landscape. The two parts will take place on March 21 and 28.

These seminars are open to the public. Register for Part I alone ($65) or for both sessions ($75). Part II is available only with Part I registration. Part I includes continental breakfast and boxed lunch. Preregistration and prepayment are required.

Seminar Part I

Part I will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 21 at the IMMI Conference Center, 18880 East St., Westfield.

Speaker topics include:

  • Shrubs and Hedges
  • Creating a Woodland Garden
  • Trees in Your Project/Garden: An Asset or a Liability?
  • The Landscape Below Ground: Architecture of Woody Plant Roots & How it Impacts Your Landscape
  • Understanding the Ecological Benefits of Your Trees & Shrubs

Seminar Part II

Part II will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on March 28 at the Cool Creek Park Nature Center, 2000 E. 151st St., Carmel.

The seminar will include one hour of indoor class time, plus a trip outdoors for:

  • Tree ID Walk
  • Learn how to plant a tree or shrub
  • Proper invasive species removal techniques
  • Hands-on pruning instruction
