The Hamilton Southeastern girls basketball team’s season came to an end on Saturday, Feb. 14, as the Royals fell to McCutcheon 53-36 in the Frankfort regional championship.
The Mavericks outscored Southeastern in each quarter, leading 14-7 after the first period. McCutcheon held a 22-13 halftime advantage and led 33-22 after three periods, then had a 20-point fourth quarter to finish the game.
Kayla Stidham scored 13 points for the Royals. Kennedy Holman put together a double-double of 16 rebounds and 11 points. Both are headed to Division I college programs: Holman is a Florida commit, while Stidham is a Bowling Green State recruit.
Southeastern finished its season 20-5, its sixth 20-win season in the past eight years and also defended its Sectional 8 championship in addition to another Hoosier Crossroads Conference title.
