The Duke Energy Foundation is contributing a shareholder-funded hunger relief grant to one nonprofit in Hamilton County.
Open Doors of Westfield is receiving $15,000 to purchase food and holiday meals.

Wanninger
“Thanks to this wonderful Duke Energy grant, we’ll now be able to support more Westfield families, children, and seniors through our food pantry,” said Kurt Wanninger, vice president of Open Doors of Washington Township. “This week’s weather is a reminder that winter is just around the corner, and we’re proud to work every day to ensure that Hoosiers in our community are warm and have enough to eat.”
During the holiday season and colder weather, many Hoosier families turn to assistance programs that help support those facing hunger. But those programs are facing challenges of their own to support this tremendous need.

Pinegar
“These organizations are consistently there for Hoosiers when hardships arise,” Duke Energy Indiana President Stan Pinegar said. “There’s often an increased need for their services during the holiday season, and we’re grateful to collaborate with them and boost their positive impact on our local communities.”
