Residents of Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston’s district will have the chance to give feedback on proposed off-cycle congressional redistricting.

ReCenter Indiana Inc. is holding the last in a series of three listening sessions on off-cycle redistricting and other voter concerns from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at Geist Christian Church, 12756 Promise Road, Fishers. State Sen. Kyle Walker also represents Fishers in the Indiana Statehouse.

State Rep. Huston and State Senate President Pro Tem Rod Bray have called the legislature into session next month in response to a request from Gov. Mike Braun. Under pressure from the White House, Braun asked lawmakers to redraw the state’s congressional districts to help Republicans in the 2026 midterm elections. Normally redistricting takes place after each new census at the beginning of a decade.

Polling indicates the public wants lawmakers to leave Indiana’s congressional map alone. At ReCenter Indiana’s recent listening sessions in Martinsville and Beech Grove, almost all attendees opposed off-cycle redistricting as well.

Laura Merrifield Wilson, associate professor of political science at the University of Indianapolis, will explain redistricting at Thursday’s ReCenter Indiana event in Fishers. Then she will invite audience members to ask questions and share their views. Attendees will also be invited to identify issues that they want lawmakers to prioritize.

ReCenter Indiana Inc. will compile and share the listening session results with other interested citizens as well as state elected officials.

The event is free and open to the public. Those who wish to attend in person are asked to register at this link. ReCenter Indiana’s partner organization, The Indiana Citizen, will provide a livestream of each session at indianacitizen.org. Other details are at recenterindiana.org/news.
