The school board has responsibility for major district functions including school district governance and oversight, setting school policies, approving funding, strategic planning, and hiring and evaluating the superintendent.
- Stony Creek Elementary presented on the success of their reading tutoring partnership with United Way’s ReadUP Program.
- Executive Director of Student Services Julie Thacker shared employee survey data that measured staff perceptions and knowledge of student mental health supports. This was part of the district’s Compassionate Care and Support strategic plan objective.
- The board approved consumable fees for items that students use or keep such as art supplies or lab materials. The district will continue to cover textbook and iPad costs and students who qualify for free/reduced lunch will not be billed for consumable fees.
- The board approved moving forward with the purchase of two parcels of land on Field Drive across from Noblesville East Middle School.
- The board approved new employee insurance carriers.
