Singer-songwriter Roger McGuinn will grace the halls of the Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel next month when plays at The Tarkington. “Stories and Songs with Roger McGuinn” is set for 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. This concert is part of the Katz, Sapper & Miller Pop/Rock Series.
McGuinn began his career at 17 and was active on the national music scene before co-founding the Byrds, who blended folk harmonies, Dylan-inspired lyrics and the Beatles’ electric sound to become one of the most influential rock bands of all time.
Led by McGuinn’s 12-string Rickenbacker guitar, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers topped the charts with hits like “Mr. Tambourine Man,” helped launch the psychedelic era with “Eight Miles High,” and presaged the country-rock wave with their album Sweetheart of the Rodeo.
Throughout his long solo career, he has championed the preservation of traditional folk music. Don’t miss this special solo performance.
Tickets are available now at TheCenterPresents.org or by calling (317) 843-3800.

I’ve followed Rogersince Mr.Tambourine Man and have attended Byrds and Roger solo over a dozen times. He’s a wealth of knowledge about all kinds of music. His actual guitar playing and singing haven’t diminished in the least.
Do yourself a favor and prepare for a relaxing and memorable evening. Take it from one who knows!
