Phi Betes really love raising money for cancer research, our national project, and other helpful local funds.
At Phi Beta Psi Sorority’s recently held national convention in Lexington, Ky., the convention delegation voted $572,598 be given to six cancer research doctors. That’s $95,433 each to these research doctors.
Since 1941, when cancer research was named the Sorority’s national project, we have given a total of $12,538,720 to cancer research. Through the years, many different cancers have been given grants from Phi Beta Psi. This year, the $572,598 was given to help research in lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, gliomas, and exhaustion prevention during treatment.
Phi Beta Psi Sorority is a philanthropic organization started in February 1904. As of July 31, 2025, we have 60 active chapters, three associate chapters across the United States and 1,068 active members and 34 associate members.
Attending this convention locally were Kathy Kirkendorfer, Marie Barr, and Suzanne Walton from Delta Chapter, Arcadia; Cathy Good and Suzanne Lyon from Theta Alpha Alpha, Sheridan; and Bonnie Colson and Stephanie Sharpe from Theta Delta, Tipton.
