Football: All eight county teams set for Friday scrimmages

The 2025 Indiana high school football season is getting closer to kickoff.

Hoosier football teams will take to stadiums across the state Friday with scrimmages. All eight Hamilton County teams will be in action Friday, in games that kick off at 7 p.m.

Half of the county’s eight teams will be scrimmaging in their home stadium. Westfield, last season’s Class 6A state runner-up, takes on Ben Davis at Riverview Health Stadium. Sheridan, under first-year coach Jake Chesney, welcomes Crawfordsville to Bud Wright Stadium. The Blackhawks have a streak going of three consecutive sectional titles.

Noblesville takes on North Central at Beaver Stadium; that scrimmage will mark the debut of John Hebert as the Millers’ coach. Guerin Catholic welcomes Indianapolis Lutheran to the Eagles Nest; the Saints were regional champions last year in their first season in Class 2A.

The other four county football teams all hit the road for their respective scrimmages. Fishers, a sectional champion last season, travels to McCutcheon. Carmel travels to Zionsville; the Greyhounds welcome back Kevin Wright as their coach.

Hamilton Southeastern, fresh off its fifth consecutive winning season, heads to Indianapolis to scrimmage against another powerhouse Bishop Chatard. Hamilton Heights travels to Alexandria.
