Karen (Dodd) McQuern, born on March 12, 1942, in Carmel, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in Monticello, Ind. She was 83 years old.
Karen was the beloved wife of Robert D. McQuern II and a devoted mother to her children: Robert D. McQuern III and his wife Teresa, Bruce McQuern and his wife Angela, Brett McQuern and his wife Jodie, and daughter-in-law Catherine McQuern. She was preceded in death by her son Brian McQuern.
Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Karen’s family was the heart of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was the daughter of Marvin and Joyce Dodd and grew up alongside her siblings Wilbur Dodd, Shirley Fitzpatrick, and Bill Dodd, all of whom preceded her in death.
Karen will be remembered for her kind and warm-hearted nature. Her beautiful smile had a way of lighting up any room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
There will be a Celebration of Life held from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 20 in Lebanon at the Cedars Activity Center, 1383 E. County Road 75 North (Ratsburg Road).
