The HCSO is currently investigating a fatal Thursday morning crash in Sheridan.
The crash occurred at East First Street and South Georgia Street. The Sheridan Police Department was investigating a stolen vehicle, and when a traffic stop was initiated by officers, the suspect fled and pursuit began.
The officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle during the pursuit and then located it crashed in Veteran’s Park, north of the intersection of East First Street and South Georgia Street on the north side of Sheridan. Officers immediately called for Sheridan Fire and rendered aid to the driver. The driver of the vehicle, Dominic Fajardo, 19, died due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team is leading the investigation at the request of the Sheridan Police Department. Next of kin of the deceased has been notified.
