Hamilton Southeastern completed its Hoosier Crossroads Conference sweep of Avon Monday, beating the Orioles 7-2 at the Royals’ field.
Southeastern, ranked No. 4 in Class 4A, got on top right away, scoring six runs in the first inning. Carter Lohman hit a home run in that inning, driving in three runs. Brock Burns hit a solo homer in the sixth inning to score the Royals’ seventh run of the game. Dalton Hutchinson, Trenton Schneider and Jack Lang all had two hits, and Jacob Daftari batted in two runs.
Sam Bachman threw five innings for the win, tossing seven strikeouts.
The Royals will compete in the Super Prep Series in Louisville starting on Thursday when they play Ballard at 8 p.m.
