Back home at The Dunk after a trip to Tennessee, the Noblesville baseball team gave itself a welcome home present on Tuesday.

The Millers took care of Frankfort 4-0, led by a complete game from Harris Camp. The senior only allowed two hits in seven innings of work, throwing three strikeouts and giving up no walks.

“Harris threw the ball really well, threw a lot of strikes,” said Noblesville coach Justin Keever. The coach also was pleased with how the defense performed Camp, making all the necessary plays.

“That’s going to win you a lot of ball games,” said Keever.

The Millers scored their first run in the second inning. Tyler Owens came in to pinch run for Alex Cleverly, who got on base with a single. Owens stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on an error.

Noblesville added two more runs in the third inning. Travis Gilliam singled on to base, stole second, then was driven home with a double by Bryce Masterson. Masterson was later moved to third after Zac Tuinei drew a walk, then another walk issued to Camp sent Masterson home.

The Millers got their fourth run in the fifth inning, starting with a single by Jacob Thieman. Jacob Bowen came in to pinch run, and he stole second. Bowen then advanced to third on a passed ball, and was batted in with a single from Tuinei.

Masterson finished the day 2-for-2. Bryce Randall hit a second-inning double.

“I thought we had some timely hits, and then some good base running by Jacob Bowen and Tyler Owens got us a couple runs that wouldn’t have happened without their good base running to take some extra bases,” said Keever.

Next up for Noblesville is its first Hoosier Crossroads Conference series of the season, and it’s a big one: Fishers, the No. 2 team in Class 4A. The Millers, who are receiving votes in the 4A poll, are scheduled to travel to the Tigers’ field on Thursday for a 6 p.m. game. The series then moves to Don Dunker Field on Friday with a 6 p.m. first pitch, then finishes at noon on Saturday at Fishers.
