Noblesville Firefighter Steve Honeycutt retires after 21 years of service

The City of Noblesville and the Noblesville Fire Department (NFD) announce the retirement of Firefighter Steve Honeycutt, who is concluding a remarkable 21-year career dedicated to protecting and serving the citizens of Noblesville.

A graduate of Centerville High School and Ball State University, Honeycutt joined NFD in 2004, bringing with him a strong work ethic, deep compassion for others, and a commitment to excellence that would define his career.

Throughout his service, Honeycutt served not only on the front lines but also in specialized roles, including his time as a member of the department’s Honor Guard from its inception through 2024. His contributions extended beyond daily duties to involvement in two truck committees and earning numerous accolades, including the 2012 Firefighter of the Year Award. In recognition of his exceptional professionalism and compassion, he received the IU Health Certificate of Distinguished Service Award in December of 2022. He was honored with three Unit Citation awards for exemplary teamwork and dedication.

“Firefighter Honeycutt has been at the tip of the spear for this department for over two decades,” Fire Chief Matt Mitchell said. “His professionalism, integrity, and compassion have left an indelible mark on all of us. We wish him and his family the very best in the future.”

As he steps into retirement, Honeycutt looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Mandy, and two children, Ella, 18, and Liam, 16. He also plans to travel, explore America’s National Parks, and pursue his passion for music as a professional live performer.
