Sheridan to get invaded by Jeeps a second time … for charity

Sheridan Education Foundation’s (SEF) annual Jeep Invasion hosted by the Sheridan Jeep Committee is rolling in on Saturday, Aug. 2.

This event supports the local school system one classroom or one Jeep at a time. This unforgettable afternoon of horsepower, hometown pride, and community spirit will be only the second time this event has taken place.

It’s more than just a gathering for Jeep lovers; it’s actually a fundraiser benefiting Sheridan Community Schools. One hundred percent of the proceeds go back to Sheridan classrooms through the educator grants that SEF sponsors. This “invasion” is actually an opportunity for the entire community to come together for a great cause. There’s fun planned for everyone at any age.

The festivities begin with the anticipated Jeep parade at 3:30 p.m. Before the parade, Jeep owners will gather in the designated parking area where a live DJ will keep the energy high as participants get the opportunity to connect. Registered participants will even receive an event T-shirt, a swag bag, and instructions for a scavenger hunt.

After the parade, the Jeeps will be on display along Main Street in Sheridan from 4 to 7 p.m. This is similar to a standard car show, but instead of old vehicles of all kinds, they’re all Jeeps. The downtown celebration will also feature live music from local favorite Jai Baker 3, delicious food from local vendors and food trucks, and a variety of opportunities for shopping. Kids will love the dedicated Kid Zone packed with activities, while adults can take part in raffle games and bid on items in the silent auction. Businesses along Main Street will also be open to welcome visitors.

Sponsorships are still being accepted for this year’s Sheridan Jeep Invasion. Businesses and individuals interested in supporting local educators while gaining community exposure are encouraged to reach out to Jenna Jessup at jjessup@sheridan.k12.in.us or Sharon Brimberry at sebrim@yahoo.com for more information.

Whether you’re showcasing your Jeep, volunteering, or simply coming out to enjoy the fun, join in August for a day filled with community connections, entertainment, and support for Sheridan Community Schools.
