Marietta Pickett, 90, of Hamilton County, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marietta lived a life full of music, nature, and meaningful connections.
Born on January 7, 1935, Marietta’s love for music led her to become an accomplished pianist, often filling her home with the warmth of song. She found great joy in gardening and took pride in tending to the land she loved, spending much of her life on the family farm.
Marietta was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Pauline Beck; loving husband, Robert Pickett; daughter, Pamela Pickett; and son, Bruce Pickett. She is survived by her cherished grandchildren, Nick Timmons, Blake Riley, Lindsey (Adam) Brizendine, Tanner (Brittney) Pickett, and Tyler (Katelyn) Pickett; and 10 great-grandchildren who brought her immense pride and joy.
She also leaves behind her dear brother, Sonny (Glendia) Beck, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will deeply miss her kindness, gentle spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and loved.
Marietta’s legacy lives on in the music she played, the gardens she nurtured, and the lives she touched. Her memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.
The family will be holding private services at Hartley Funeral Home in Cicero to commemorate Marietta’s life. There will also be a private burial at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
