Papa Poteet pops up in Pendleton

(ABOVE) Papa Paul peers (apparently pleased) at the performance of Poteet 2.0 projected on the prodigious screen. (RIGHT) Uh … uhm … well … unable to tell them apart we are just going to quote Foreigner for a moment, “Fill my eyes with that double vision. No disguise for that double vision. Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me. My double vision gets the best of me.” (Photos provided)

Your Hometown Meteorologist Paul Poteet spoke to classes at Pendleton Intermediate Elementary School last week.

Mister Weatherman was part of career day presentations on May 1. He spoke of his childhood interest in radio and weather, which ended up expanding to television. (And newspapers, eventually!)

Poteet’s grandson Hunter is a fourth grader at the school. His class put on a “Famous Hoosier Wax Museum” the next day. Students picked personalities with an Indiana connection and used props, clothes, and a prepared speech to bring the character to life when visitors approached. Hunter’s pick was Papa Poteet. The real thing showed up, also with a shirt and tie.
