New exhibits at Newfields feature floral arrangements & art

Newfields is springing into the new season with two new exhibits: Art in Bloom and Spring Blooms. They feature floral arrangements and art, both indoors and outdoors.

Both spring exhibits will begin on March 20.

Art in Bloom is springing into its fifth year, running until March 23.

“We have a huge variety of floral materials you’ll see. Anything from local daffodils, to orchids that get imported from Hawaii,” Newfields Seasonal and Festival Manager Erin Kilhefner said.

This year, 55 different flower arrangements by designers locally and across the country are showcased at Newfields. Each flower arrangement is inspired by work in the Indianapolis Museum of Art galleries.

“We work with amazing designers, we have a set of guidelines for them, they have time with their artwork to get inspired and you have to come see them live,” Kilhefner said.
