Firefighters support Chris Miller

Dear Editor:

The Jackson Professional Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 4416 support elected officials that work in cooperation to enhance our ability to do our job for the taxpayers of Jackson Township. We can respond to emergencies most effectively with safe staffing levels, functional equipment and training. All three of these areas have improved over the last seven years with Chris Miller as Jackson Township Trustee.

Since being elected Trustee seven years ago, Chris Miller has kept her promises to work with public safety leaders to improve the tools and funding needed to keep our community safe. Trustee Miller has been a consistent advocate of the firefighters by helping us protect the citizens of Jackson Township from fires and disasters, and by enhancing our ability to provide the highest level of Emergency Medical Care. As Trustee, Chris Miller is well aware of the dangers firefighters and EMS personnel face on the job and the need to protect our health and safety. That is why she has worked diligently to secure grant funding for better training, suitable protective fire gear, industry standard breathing apparatuses and certified paramedic services 24/7.

Chris Miller understands local government and the needs of our community. She supports the fire response and medical needs of those who live, work and go to school here, as well as those that visit Jackson Township. Firefighters are citizens too and we share the desire for an efficient and safe fire department to provide the best customer service at a reasonable cost when you dial 911.

Through her experience and performance over the last seven years as Trustee, Chris Miller has proven to us that she has the reliability, vision, know-how and compassion to continue serving as Trustee of Jackson Township. Support for public safety is why we are asking for your support and vote to re-elect Chris Miller and the Township Board on May 8.
