Carmel Christkindlmarkt has unveiled the 2025 mug design, resulting from the organization’s 2025 Mug Design Competition.

The competition’s winning artist was 12-year-old Anika Rupp, of the greater Indianapolis area, whose design turns the iconic boot mug into an ice skate, creating a cute and timeless collectible for Market-goers to purchase during the 2025 season.

“We are thrilled with this selection for our 2025 mug,” Carmel Christkindlmarkt President and CEO Maria Adele Rosenfeld. “Anika’s design stood out to us among the dozens of creative entries we received, and we know our Market guests will love this mug as much as we do.”

“Anika is excited to see her mug design in use at the 2025 Market and to imagine them going home with visitors,” said Keri Rupp, Anika Rupp’s mother. “This is such a fun acknowledgment of her creativity.”

The mug will be available for purchase for $6 on-site only at the Market during its 2025 season. Opening day for the Market will be Nov. 22.

In 2023, the market sold $9.1 million in goods and had about 475,000 visitors during its monthlong run.
