The Sheridan girls basketball team picked up another huge win on Thursday, beating Speedway 48-24 in the Blackhawks’ Senior Night game.
Sheridan dominated from the start, leading 19-2 after one quarter. Kenzie Garner hit three 3-pointers during that period, with Cecilia Timme and Shelby Eaton each adding four points. Mac Smith scored two points.
The ‘Hawks shut out the Sparkplugs in the second quarter, giving them a 27-2 halftime lead. The second half was closer, but Sheridan still outscored Speedway in both the third and fourth quarters. Garner poured in another 13 points in the third.
Garner finished the game with 26 points and four 3s; she also collected 14 rebounds for a double-double and blocked three shots. Timme added eight points and pulled six rebounds, with Eaton and Smith both scoring six. Smith also had seven rebounds. Nova Cross scored two points in the fourth.
Sheridan is 16-1 and plays Tuesday at Guerin Catholic.
