Fishers Parks invites you to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Create your unique “I have a dream” yard sign to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This passive activity offers up space at the Fishers Parks HQ, 8100 E. 106th St., to customize your free yard sign with provided art supplies.

Drop in anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, Jan. 17 to make your yard sign before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20. Signs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. All materials will be provided at no cost.

All participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation to the city’s annual MLK Day of Service food drive.

City-wide commemoration & service opportunities

Fishers’ 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration offers residents ways to give back and celebrate the message of kindness from Dr. King. With local food pantries experiencing an increase in demand and a decrease in supply, the city is holding a community-wide food drive. Last year, the community donated 20,000 pounds of food.

Select from the Hamilton Southeastern Schools that students and their families can donate to: Thorpe Creek Elementary School, Fishers Elementary School, Fishers Junior High School, Southeastern Elementary School, Riverside Intermediate School, Riverside Junior High School, and Fall Creek Junior High School.
