Guest Conductor Mélisse Brunet leads the Carmel Symphony Orchestra (CSO) in an unforgettable evening combining the high-energy artistry of breakdancing with the timeless energy of classical music.
Breakin’ Classical with the CSO is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 at The Palladium in Carmel.
“It is mesmerizing to see two very distinctly different art forms combine for a totally new experience,” Brunet said. “This is exactly what is needed to ignite the senses during the winter months!”
Brunet is a French American conductor enchanting audiences worldwide. She was featured in the David Letterman-backed film Maestra which focused on groundbreaking female conductors.
Repertoire for the evening includes “Hoe Down” by Aaron Copland, “Hungarian Dance No. 6” by Johannes Brahms, “L’Arlesienne Suite No. 2” by Georges Bizet and other timeless pieces that will have you tapping along.
