Gary Duncan, the newly elected Hamilton County Surveyor, recently attended the Association of Indiana Counites Newly Elected Officials Seminar. The event was held Dec. 10 to 12, 2024, at Embassy Suites in Plainfield, Ind.
This was a three-day conference being held for Indiana’s newly elected county officials from all 92 counties. Seminar training included such topics as: Purchasing, Open Door Law, Human Resources, Cybersecurity, and Basics of County Budgeting. Various other state agency representatives from the State Board of Accounts, Indiana Department of Local Government Finance, and the Office of Public Access Counselor’s Office also discussed a variety of issues specific to different county offices.
Office holders who attended the conference also met during breakout sessions with their affiliate associations.

The Association of Indiana Counties, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1957 for the betterment of county government.
