Southeastern wins Royal Relays, Fishers 2nd

The Hamilton Southeastern girls track and field team won its own Royal Relays on Saturday.
Southeastern scored 134 points, with next-door neighbor Fishers placing second by scoring 91 points. The Royals won eight events at the meet – six on the track and two in the field.
Camille Christopher was first in the 100 dash, with Lulu Black pacing the 3200 run and Mia Mackenzie finishing first in the 300 hurdles. Christopher and Mackenzie teamed with Olivia Burgess and Tierra Sydnor to place first in the 4×100 relay.
Burgess joined Kinsey Ewing, Madisyn Etheredge and Hammons to win the 4×400 relay, then Madealine Mirro, Grace Howard, Brianna Wright and Caroline Shumaker finished first in the 4×800 relay.
In the field, Kennedy Drish and Jessica Bray set a new meet record in the pole vault, combining for a score of 24 feet. Drish had the best jump at 12 feet, 3 inches, a new school record that also placed her on the IndianaRunner.com’s top 25 all-time list. Bray’s leap of 11-9 was a personal best.
Tayah Irvin and Sydnor tied for first in the high jump relay; both had best jumps of 4-10. The HSE pair shared first place with Fishers’ Emily Monson and Alex Miller; both Tigers athletes also jumped 4-10. Meanwhile, Valerie Obear had the best toss in the discus at 120-3, she and Audra Hogan placed third in the discus relay.
Runner-up finishes for the Royals were Sydnor in the 400 dash, Lillian Cummins in the 3200, the distance medley team of Brooke Ratliff, Emonie Miles, Annice McFarland and Sammie Alphin, the shuttle hurdle relay team of Irvin, Willo Sheikh, Ella Mackenzie and Mia Mackenzie and the long jump relay team of Mia Mackenzie and Hammons.
Sydnor, Lauren Johnson, Burgess and Christopher placed third for HSE in the 4×200 relay.
As for Fishers, third-place finishers were Tamia Perryman in the 100, Corinne Yorkman in the 1600 run, Corinne O’Leary in the 3200, Katie Folta in the 300 hurdles, the 4×800 relay team of Haley Thomas, Lilia Bodnar, Mia Yates and Brynn Urban and the long jump relay team of Gabby Lewis and Folta.
