Grand Park Event Center to hold first Westfield Youth Sports Pickleball Jam

The REPORTER

The second annual Holiday Pickleball Festival hosted by Grand National Racquet Center announces the first Westfield Youth Sports Pickleball Jam, set to take place Sunday, Dec. 29 at the Grand Park Event Center.

Scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., this clinic will be a fundraiser where a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Westfield Youth Sports scholarship program which supports kids who may not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in the sports program.

The community will be able to participate in a beginner clinic and then put what they learned into action by playing in a ladder format exhibition. No skill level is required to play. There will be a youth event in the morning and an adult event in the afternoon with courts available to play on in between.

“We are excited to provide an opportunity for the youth of Westfield to learn a new sport,” Westfield Youth Sports Executive Director Molly Wright said. “Pickleball is a sport that is growing quickly among all ages, and this provides exposure of the sport to both kids and adults. Plus, the funds raised will go towards our scholarship program. For the 11 sports we offer we won’t turn away and our scholarship needs have doubled in the last two years. Get your kids out and do something fun over the holiday!”

The Westfield Youth Sports Pickleball Jam promises to be an action-packed evening of athleticism, sportsmanship, and holiday cheer. Stay and play pickleball alongside the community by renting your own court and enjoy food and drinks offered by the on-site full-service restaurant and bar!
