Fishers Event Center unveils basketball court with unique Hoosier history

The new Fishers Event Center has unveiled the basketball court on which the upcoming Mudsock Rivalry Basketball Game will be played.

The highly anticipated matchup between the Fishers Tigers and the Hamilton Southeastern Royals, which has been played since the 2006-2007 school year, will take place on Friday, Dec. 20 with a 6 p.m. girls game and 8 p.m. boys game. (Doors open at 5 p.m.) Currently, the HSE boys lead the series 10-7 and the HSE girls lead 11-6.

Fishers Event Center’s commitment to creating a meaningful space for the community extends to every detail – including court selection. The venue is proud to feature a court with ties to Indiana basketball history. The Mudsock Rivalry Basketball Game will inaugurate the court as a permanent fixture at Fishers Event Center, marking its fourth use overall. This provides Hamilton County high schoolers with the opportunity to compete on a floor that celebrates the legacy of Indiana basketball greatness.

Before finding its home at the new arena, this court hosted three thrilling games during the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Regional Games at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Fans witnessed No. 1 seed Purdue’s victories over No. 5 Gonzaga and No. 2 Tennessee, and is where they secured their spot in the 2024 Men’s NCAA Final Four.

Adding a special local touch, the court’s design was crafted by local creative firm Section 127, whose team members hail from this community. This unique blend of national significance and local pride makes the court an extraordinary addition to Fishers Event Center.

Events coming up over the next month

The Fishers Event Center will host a wide variety of community events and concerts spanning genres including theater, sports, comedy, family, country, rock and more. The venue’s size allows it to accommodate legendary shows in an intimate setting, as well as newer artists on the brink of big success. Upcoming events include:
