Hamilton Southeastern’s girls stayed perfect on the season Tuesday, beating Brownsburg 66-60 in a home Hoosier Crossroads Conference game.
The Class 4A No. 2 Royals got off to a strong start, leading the Bulldogs 22-14 after one quarter. Southeastern enjoyed a 38-26 lead at halftime. Brownsburg cut into Southeastern’s lead in the second half, but the Royals held on for the win.
Maya Makalusky had an outstanding game with a career-high 38 points, including six 3-pointers. Makalusky, this week’s IBCA District 2 Player of the Week, also made five steals and blocked two shots. Kennedy Holman scored 11 points and collected eight rebounds, while Kayla Stidham dished out four assists.
Southeastern is 2-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall. The Royals return to Brownsburg on Saturday to play Chicago Fremd in the annual Sneakers for Santa tournament.
