Following Wednesday’s Senate Republican leadership election, Senator-elect Jim Banks released the following statement:
Today, for the first time in nearly two decades, Senate Republicans took the historic step of electing a new Majority Leader. I look forward to working with Senate Majority Leader John Thune to advance President Trump’s agenda.
I’d like to thank both our Majority Whip John Barrasso and our new Conference Chair Tom Cotton for the honor of asking me to give their nomination speeches, and I’d like to congratulate them both on their resounding victories.
We have a strong leadership team and our new majority is situated to hit the ground running and undo the damage of the past four years. I am honored that Hoosiers have entrusted me with this responsibility and I look forward to getting to work on their behalf to secure our border and bring prices down for working families in Indiana.
