Sheridan Schools holds ‘Track or Treat’ on new turf

Submitted by Sheridan Community Schools

Sheridan Community Schools held its annual Track or Treat event on Tuesday, Oct. 29, welcoming families to a safe and festive Halloween experience on the new Sheridan High School (SHS) turf football field.

Coordinated by the SHS Student Council, this much-anticipated event brought the community together for a night of costumes, treats, and fun. Overall, the event hosted approximately 700 individuals.

The event invites any SHS club or team to set up a table, creating a welcoming environment where little ones in costume can safely collect candy and enjoy Halloween festivities. This year’s event had a great turnout, with children enjoying activities and treats in a community-focused atmosphere.

“We’re thrilled to provide a safe and enjoyable space for our young trick-or-treaters,” Student Council Sponsor Mathew Hewitt said. “Track or Treat is a wonderful example of how our school and community come together to support our kids. It’s always heartwarming to see so many smiling faces on the field.”

SCS thanks these community sponsors, whose generous support helped make Track or Treat a success: Sheridan Elementary PTO, Sheridan Fire Department, Greek’s Pizza, Stuckey Farm, Sheridan Historical Society, Wallace Horse Fee, Culver’s, Creekside Chiropractic, Reynolds Farm Equipment, Drayer Family, and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit 67.

SCS appreciates the dedication of these organizations and the efforts of the SHS Student Council in bringing a memorable and safe Halloween celebration to life for local families.
