State Senator and U.S. Marine Corps veteran Scott Baldwin announced on Tuesday the endorsement of the OneZone Business Action Committee (ZoneBAC) in his campaign for reelection to represent District 20.
“We’re excited to announce our endorsement of Senator Baldwin,” said Séamus Boyce, chair of the ZoneBAC. “We want to thank Senator Baldwin for his dedication to advancing our mission of supporting thriving businesses and communities.”
Baldwin said his business experience meshes with his efforts to help enact state policies that support business.
“I’m honored to have earned the endorsement of the OneZone Business Action Committee,” Baldwin said. “I understand what it’s like to sign the front of a paycheck and the challenges small business owners face. That’s why I’ll champion efforts to keep taxes low, skill up our workforce and reduce red tape to support our businesses and keep our communities strong.”
In the state Senate, Baldwin has authored and supported policies to strengthen Indiana’s reputation as one of the friendliest states in the country for small businesses, including authoring legislation to provide $100 million in federal tax relief to Hoosier small businesses. He has also supported policies that reduced individual income tax rates, expanded eligibility for the state’s venture capital investment tax credit for Hoosier entrepreneurs, eliminated the state’s ban on “happy hours” and increased access to affordable child care to further support Hoosier small businesses and their employees, among others.
Baldwin, with more than 25 years of military and law enforcement experience, is a successful entrepreneur and business owner, a husband, and a father of three.
